Just read @marco_rocco because on this I agree 100percent 🤣
Man I really wanted to love this show. Within the first couple of episodes I was already prepared to have it in my GOAT lists, but as the episodes kept going I found myself more and more frustrated with what the show could've been. It's a double-edged gladius. On one hand we have just an incredible representation of everyday and not-so-everyday living in ancient Rome a couple of decades before Christ. But on the other hand we have "televisa presenta" style character writing and arcs which just left me palming my face and rolling my eyes. Still, the politicking and the realness of the representation of Rome would make the show at least a 3/5. Even if it had the worst characters in TV history, it's that good. I'm itching for another historical drama now, any recommendations?
