WIP As soon as Spice Up Your Life played, I thought "We are so back!" Utterly bonkers and in such a brilliant way! There's just so much to take away and discuss about The Giggle and while it isn't perfect it's some of the most fun I've experienced from a TV show! Part of the reason there's so much to discuss is the break neck pace of it. There's a hell of a lot going on very quickly and sometimes it's to the special's detriment. For instance Donna very much takes a back seat in this because there's just no space to squeeze a plot for her. There are story elements too that probably could be expanded on too. However I feel the fact this story feels so manic actually fits in with the central theme of the story, that we all need to take breaks. In many ways I feel Russell T Davies was writing this as a story for himself. We have a world that's gone crazy with everyone aggressively sharing their opinions due to their access to screens.
