The Pink Panther diamond is stolen once again from Lugash and the authorities call in Chief Inspector Clouseau from France. His plane disappears en-route. This time, famous French TV reporter Marie Jouvet sets out to solve the mystery and starts to interview everybody connected to Clouseau.
The Trailing Off of the Pink Panther After Revenge of the Pink Panther, Peter Sellers sadly passed away. Blake Edwards clearly felt Peter Sellers couldn't be replaced as Clouseau, despite the studio demanding another Pink Panther movie. Hence a film using past and unused footage was made. I by no means condemn Blake Edwards for this decision, Inspector Clouseau and the Pink Panther movies that follow The Trail of The Pink Panther reinforce the idea Sellers was irreplaceable. I accept too that it must be incredibly hard to lose a good friend too and have heartless capitalists ask that your friend be replaced. My review is not a condemnation of the choice made, some choices will lead to bad outcomes regardless. My review is a reflection on the viewing experience of this film.
