The Long Walk is a 2025 dystopian thriller directed by Francis Lawrence and written by JT Mollner, based on Stephen King’s 1979 novel. On paper, a movie centered almost entirely on walking sounds ridiculous, but it works. The cast delivers good performances, and Lawrence’s direction keeps the tension steady throughout. The script is engaging, presenting a cross-section of characters from different social backgrounds. However, the biggest weakness is its world-building. Despite being a dystopian story, we learn very little about the society these characters inhabit, even though that context is central to the premise. 7/10
A time killer, really. Poorly explained context and without a closure. But everything in-between was interesting and fun to watch. Anyways, I hate dumb finishes. The Sopranos have better closure than this movie lol
Il film prova a emozionarti, ma è tutto troppo scritto a tavolino perché il finale funzioni.
