The true story of how Ray Kroc, a salesman from Illinois, met Mac and Dick McDonald, who were running a burger operation in 1950s Southern California. Kroc was impressed by the brothers’ speedy system of making the food and saw franchise potential. He maneuvered himself into a position to be able to pull the company from the brothers and create a billion-dollar empire.

Movie sat on my watchlist for ages. Never really got around to it 'cause I knew it was about greed and capitalism—subjects I kinda love/hate? Makes for good stories though (like here). Watching a character evolve through all that mess, getting corrupted or just showing the worst in 'em. Movie pulls it off pretty well. Follows rise-and-fall vibes || but only from the winner's POV sorta? The real rise and fall hits the original McDonald brothers—which is kinda sad, the story's actually brutal from their side. Liked how they told their story, it's the emotional heart of it all. Keaton gets more hateable as you go deeper, you see him peel back layers and he's not even ashamed. Really the American Dream, which ties into why I hate capitalism. How messed up people get when there's something to win is wild|| Visually neat too. Great composition here and there. Red and yellow hints are subtle enough, not screaming in your face. 50s vibe feels right on, maybe dialed up sometimes. Nothing super flashy but it does the job.
Interesting to have a biopic, where the main character is clearly the antagonist. Keaton is a joy to see as the greatest a..hole on screen in some time.
