The mixing of three distinct movies into one like this shouldn't even be feasible (even if the "plot is simple"). ||Like holy shit how did my man manage to mix and twist a Commando Thriller with Romance and freaking Ali-... Non-Teristerial Intelligence...|| James Cameron always loves his water as you may well know. I think there are few movies who are Anti-war and manage to talk about it without indirectly promoting it and this one manages it. Okay the message is pretty big like a middle finger to any commandent or Leader who likes it. I'd say oretty balsy to do such a movie in AMERICA of all countries knowing the relationship they have with war. Next to that the N.T.I. part was cool (plus the fact it makes indirectly reference to Nuclear Threat Initiative in the "real world" is cool af and oushes the point even further in the Anti-war commentary. Also for information this was one of my Mother's favourite movies and I last time I remember seeing any of it was around 2009? was pwetty young and didn't remember shit besides || Breathing in Woter and cool water tentacle || Anyways next to the war subject it lightly tackles Misogyny in some way I mean even if the characters have problem with Lindsey it's never with the excuse of "cause she's a woman" so that's that, still comment about Hurricane thst sbould be named after woman cause... the are I guess not enjoyable to interact with sometimes? I don't know what they meant really but I just know it ain't positive but alas such things existed and still do (I myself may still make those types of jokes sadly enough so yeah, still not safe from them almost 40 jears later) I really liked how to managed to not use the Word Alien knowing Cameron did #[movie:679:Aliens (1986)] is kinda funny and also serves the plot cause of sll the acronyms (Alien being replaced with N.T.I.) Anywyas solid movie I completely understand why my mother watched it like every week or 2 weeks xD
holy fuck watched the special edition i’m in awe of this technically wish it was just a little “smarter” if that’s fair to say but the action is just off the charts god damn
