imagine your head is being split open for a class of ten and the professor cracks a peeling orange joke
Stupendously silly! If I had summarise Re-Animator it would be in the phrase 'they went for it'. Re-animator is very much relentless! The running time clocks in around 85 minutes, yet it feels much shorter due to the ferocious pacing! There is nothing that feels like filler and it manages to keep you enthralled throughout! Of course, the film is abetted by its cast. They walk a deft line between over the top and earnest, it very much feels like theatre moreso than cinema yet the performances far from diminishing the material greatly enhance the experience. The cast very much chomp the scenery harder than a Prestonian chomps a Butter Pie. The most notable performer is, of course, Jeffrey Combs. Combs first properly caught my attention in Star Trek Deep Space 9, most notably as Weyoun. His performance as Weyoun was groveling, conniving and rather creepy. He was often the most charismatic presence on screen and in this film he is no exception. He brings that creepy edge into Re-Ani
