Blacklisted by the major airlines for endlessly chasing female staff, pilot Rick Richards returns to Hawaii to set up a helicopter charter company with his friend Danny. Having a girl on every island is a good way to get business but it becomes clear that romance and flying don't always mix.

At least Frankie and Johnny, Harum Scarum and The Trouble with Girls all bothered to have another setting and tried something a little different. Paradise, Hawaiian Style isn't even trying to hide that it's just another iteration of Blue Hawaii. For those who are concerned about the "plot", Elvis is back from the army (sound familiar?) and wants to set up a helicopter tour business via the medium of manipulating different women. As ever the plot is a loose framework to move to between different set pieces and songs. Typically in these travelogues too we move to different idealic locations too, however Paradise, Hawaiian Style features an number of sets so you don't even get the travelogue aspect.
