Together, they must stop the tyrannical emperor Shao Kahn, with help from the Edenian princess Kitana. The returning cast delivers strong performances, while the newcomers fit naturally into the chaotic world of Mortal Kombat. Karl Urban stands out as Johnny Cage, bringing charisma, humor, and energy to the role. The film embraces its nature with plenty of comedy, and surprisingly, it works very well. The script is packed with entertaining one-liners, while the fight scenes are brutal and visually satisfying. What makes the film enjoyable is how confidently it leans into the madness of the Mortal Kombat universe. It keeps you engaged from start to finish and feels like a crowd-pleasing adaptation made especially for longtime fans of the franchise. 8/10
