Louis Theroux: Inside the Manosphere

Forgot to log this one... As someone who has closely (perhaps a bit too closely) followed the rise and fall (?) of the red pill manosphere movement I was a bit disappointed with this film. I enjoy Theroux's films usually, but I think he works best when he's documenting the margins of society who aren't inherently evil. With this and #[tv:157576:Louis Theroux's Forbidden America (2022)] I think he's bit off more than he can chew. He's not changing anyone's mind here, he's pandering to his already established audience and mocking his subjects in a way that only someone who's already intelligent enough to not agree with them, will appreciate. What a shit sentence... Anyhow, these people prey on young and stupid boys and they aren't watching Louis. Also he's WAY too late for this, I understand that the manosphere is still influential and present but it has already shapeshifted, the faces of the movement are no longer Sneako and Myron Gaines, but Clavicular and other looksmaxxers, he's unable to keep up with the pace of internet culture. if you approach this film as a sort of time capsule of the ridiculousness of the manosphere, it's fine, it could be better in that regard as well. But if you expect it to convert someone? That's not happening. At least it didn't make Nick Fuentes look cool like #[tv:157576:Louis Theroux's Forbidden America (2022)] did...
