The only Elvis movie with a Lynchian jumpscare! I won't lie, I actually enjoyed this one! Is this a hidden masterpiece? No. Have my standards been set so low? Quite possibly. Is it better than every Elvis movie I've seen so far? Definitely What I enjoyed about Live A Little, Love A Little is some of the bizarre creative choices present, the subversion of the standard Elvis plot structure and that the songs had a bit of energy about them. Having gained a bit of familiarity with the Elvis Cinematic Universe, typically I have come to expect Elvis meeting a woman and then creepily pursuing her over the course of the film until she marries him. However in Live A Little, Love A Little we have Elvis creepily being pursued by a woman as she looks for sexual gratification and just to abuse her power. It's certainly a more engaging narrative. All previous Elvis movies are just a reflection of the gender politics of the time, in that there is an expectation that men dominate a situation
