Secondly, the higher ratings are reflective how just how low the bar is when it comes to Elvis movies. Starting with the cult of personality side of things, King Creole is probably the best casting of Elvis in terms of his appeal. In King Creole Elvis plays a high school age rebel, who sings and will fight to protect women. Elvis is playing a character that fits the confines of the fantasies his parasocial fanbase at the time undoubtedly had. Elvis is very much in his James Dean phase and you get to see him sing 'Trouble'. In terms of where the bar is, perusing any fan reviews you will see comments about this film having the best cinematography. Aesthetically this is undoubtedl
