Jules is a 2023 science-fiction comedy-drama directed by Marc Turtletaub and written by Gavin Steckler. The film follows Milton, a 78-year-old widower living a quiet and solitary life, whose world is turned upside down when a spaceship crashes in his backyard. Ben Kingsley delivers a phenomenal performance as Milton, once again proving why he remains one of the greatest actors of his generation. The supporting cast also does a solid job, bringing warmth and charm to the story. The screenplay is well written, balancing humor, heart, and science-fiction elements. Jules is the kind of feel-good movie that recalls the family films many of us used to watch on a Sunday afternoon. It may not break new ground, but its warmth makes it an enjoyable experience. 6.5/10
