The story of a humiliating high school mishap from 1992 that sends the Impractical Jokers on the road competing in hidden-camera challenges for the chance to turn back the clock and redeem three of the four Jokers.
This film falls apart at a conceptual level. The success with Impractical Jokers is that four friends are embarrassing eachother in front of the public. The TV show works well, it's about four friends embarrassing eachother (rather than the standard prank show which tries to embarrass the public) and competing with eachother so that the loser is humiliated at the end. On TV you get a tight 30 minutes (including adverts) and a simple dramatic tension of who is going to lose that week. A film, however, requires upping the stakes and perhaps more narrative structure. The film tries to get away with this by creating a story about attending a concert and has scripted comedy sequences within. I can't personally buy the idea of not attending a concert as being more dramatic than a lot of the punishments the Jokers have faced so it feels like low stakes.
