A somewhat interesting time capsule I should have more of a connection to Goldeneye than I do. I was born in the 90's, Pierce Brosnan was the Bond of that era. I prefer Daniel Craig and Timothy Dalton. Goldeneye is often the most talked about Brosnan film too, yet it was rarely on the VHS rotation when growing up. There was a groundbreaking video game for the N64 too and I often played the N64 at after-school club. Funnily enough though I never played the video game despite having played Tomorrow Never Dies, The World is Not Enough, 007 Racing, Nightfire, Everything or Nothing and From Russia with Love (featuring the elderly vocals of Neil Connery's brother Sean). I should be a champion of Goldeneye, yet I am not. It does some interesting things, but I often feel it's status is overly exaggerated. Gone is the gritty James Bond. Pierce Brosnan's Bond is a mix of Roger Moore and Sean Connery. Its a return to the more safe Bond instead of the more gritty Bond. Pierce Brosnan does it good. He has the flair and charisma. The movie returns to the outrage Bond plot.
