An oddball of an animated film that I found so convoluted and incoherent. This movie had the same tone and atmosphere as a giallo flick, including the brutal violence, camp, and sexuality that is often synonymous with the genre. With its slim runtime of 78 minutes, Felidae dives right into the narrative arc and torpedoes its way through, leaving characters, plot lines, clarity, and its own audience in the dust to make sense of it all. I wouldn’t compare this favourably to giallo films (which I love, but there are many stinkers) or adult-oriented animated films (The Plague Dogs, Watership Down)
