On his 18th birthday, Goku receives a mystical Dragonball as a gift from his grandfather. There are only six others like it in the whole world, and legend has it that whoever possesses all seven will be granted one perfect wish. When the arrival of a dark force triggers a tragedy, Goku and his companions are propelled into an epic quest to collect the seven Dragonballs and save the Earth from destruction.
Irredeemable shite. Dragonball Evolution is possibly the worst film I have ever seen. It's an abomination that fails on almost every level and doesn't appeal to anyone. If you weren't aware, the film is loosely based on the popular Japanese anime and manga series Dragon Ball, much in the same way The Yellow Pages is loosely based on The Bible. The only real connection is there is a young character called Goku who with his new friends Bulma, Yamcha and Master Rishi set out to collect the seven mystical Dragon Balls before the evil Lord Piccolo can use them to take over the world. The film is plagued by wooden acting, disorientating camera work and a script that's incredibly lackluster. The production elements are crap too. The soundtrack is forgettable, the lighting is frustrating and the fight sequences are weaker than a watered down half pint of Fosters. There is nothing redeemable whatsoever.
