Henry VIII has just married Marie of Normandy, and is eager to consummate their marriage. Unfortunately for Henry, she is always eating garlic, and refuses to stop. It's all in the execution I guess Carry On Henry was slightly disappointing to me. I by no means actively disliked it, but I was slightly underwhelmed. All the elements are here for a solid Carry On film, but it doesn't quite stick the landing. It should go without saying that this film is about Henry VIII and his chasing of different women to provide him with an heir. The historical accuracy is... loose, aside from Henry squeezing in two wives that didn't exist, Guy Fawkes, who wasn't born for at least another 20 years, turns up. Still one doesn't come to a Carry On for a history lesson, but does expect a sex comedy and that aspect is obviously present. I think my frustration could well be from a place of fatigue. After watching 20 of these films, the formula can get a little tiring.
