Carry On Sucking, Dick! We're back into the territory of Carry On films that are basically one joke repeated in a variety of different ways. If you haven't seen this film, you don't have work hard and erect yourself when the cock crows to guess what the subject matter might be. On this occasion, we are subjected to a film that's loosely set on the subject of Dick Turpin. The term 'loose' is probably redundant here because this is a Carry On film and they care about facts and accuracy as much as Matthew Le Tissier. We have Sid James as Dick Turpin making knob jokes, no further thought was put into this film. The thing is, Carry On Dick is somehow lazier than previous Carry On historicals. Carry On Dick doesn't even try to use the historical setting for jokes. It doesn't even use the story of Dick Turpin beyond providing Sid James with a new costume that he can wear while he oggles Barbara Windsor and make references to his penis.
