There is power in a union Carry On's attempt at a satire is unsophisticated unentertaining right wing bollocks. It fails as a satire, it fails as a comedy and fails as a movie. For the uninitiated, Carry On At Your Convenience is set at a toilet factory, run by Kenneth Williams, where the union bosses will find any excuse to down tools because they're lazy and too obsessed with arbitrary rules. In terms of a plot, there isn't much of one really, it's sloppily assembled scenes based around this setting. There's a series of events that give the illusion of being a storyline but don't really go anywhere. Sid James and Hattie Jacques for instance discover their pet Budgie is able to predict the winners of horse races. No conflict arises from this situation. Charles Hawtrey is in a relationship with Kenneth Cope's mother. That doesn't result in anything. The factory is in debt, but that's ok Sid James can prop it up, they get a big order and some scabs break the strikes. There is n
