Following a zombie outbreak in Las Vegas, a group of mercenaries take the ultimate gamble: venturing into the quarantine zone to pull off the greatest heist ever attempted.
Day 22 of #Junesploitation 2021 - Zombies! Tiger zombies and horse zombies and robot zombies, Oh my! Maybe Snyder shouldn’t be the DP. He needs someone to help with the camera lenses. Needle drops galore! Zombie, really? I love the posters! Considering the film is set in Vegas it doesn't take advantage of the theatres and casinos in terms of set pieces and doesn't take advantage of the 'aestetics' (save one Elvis impersonator in the title sequence and one zombie tiger). It doesn't help that there isn't much of an emotional connection to anything in this film. Considering the lack of characterisation I'm not sure Dave Bautista is the best actor to use in the context of this film as he plays the role rather seriously compared to an Arnold Schwarzenegger type but is too unbelievable an entity to take seriously. The side characters aren't terribly compelling either and in the case of Ludwig are actively annoying. Moreover, this film lacks any sort of interesting social commentary compared to other zombie films such as 28 Days Later or Night of the Living Dead. Snyder gives
