While I can appreciate why some may enjoy this less than other installments, I found that this really worked for me. There's a heart that's here that isn't quite present in other stories.<br><br>I don't wish to suggest that the other editions are without emotion. There are often themes about finding your place in the universe and understanding what home is, but I feel this story ends on a note that makes everything content and that's in large part due to the fact this is a romance novel through a Douglas Adams filter.<br><br>I won't pretend I miss the space exploration and a lot of the sillier concepts and punchlines that were much more present in previous stories, however it's good to give some more dimension to Arthur. I enjoyed the fact Fenchurch is more of a complex character than previous love interest Trillion. Fenchurch has aspirations, dislikes and a sense of intrigue about her.<br><br>Where the story is somewhat lacking is that it has a lot of meandering away from the story and a lack of a sense of purpose. The first novel in this series is the most coherent in terms of plot structure and this is probably better than Restaurant at the End of the Universe, but still a little way off The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.<br><br>Still pretty funny, and rather heartwarming. This novel would have been a fine way to end the series
