<div>the was a profound sense of loneliness in this book. even when rusty-james was with others, it felt like he was all alone, <spoiler>all alone in his all-consuming ambitions which he fell out of love with by the end of the book</spoiler>. it's so interesting how much more aimless it becomes by the end, r<spoiler>eally showing that progression of disillusionment.</spoiler><spoiler> i feel like motorcycle boy's death was a little lame though, tbh, felt very dally the outsiders.</spoiler> steve and rusty-james shoulda run off together.</div>
