Read in French The first Camus I read last year and I found it a fast, but really beautiful read. Themes of absurdity and meaninglessness are something many will find resonance with, as I do. It's simple, but it shouldn't be more. A moment in time with a terribly observant character that leaves you deeply affected.
<div>holy fuck. at first it was really boring, i won't lie, but the last few chapters made me do a complete 180. everything made sense suddenly, like finally seeing all the puzzle pieces put together, making the full, cohesive picture. it made all of the slow, monotonous day to day bullshit seem fascinating and interesting. the way the main character approaches life and the nature of it is like. i don't know how to put it into words. but very rarely do i look up from the last page of a book after reading the final word and am left with complete emptiness in my brain. not from anything negative, but a sort of clarity, like i had been rinsed clean. and with this cleanliness i can see. what the fuck! <br><br>originally, this was going to be 3.75 at most, but then that ending, man. bumped it up to 5 stars and a favourite so, so quickly. </div>
