Felt a little disappointed. While Ian Flemming is rather good at making exposition compelling, there is a bit too much of it. There's a lot of detailed explanations of how the game works. Bond doesn't really make for a compelling character either, largely biggotted and quite lucky in his job. I am also unsure what Vesper sees in him. The most compelling way to read this is a 'being John Malcovic' type of scenario where you are inside Bond's brain and understanding the type of man he is (superficial and self absorbed).
